The printmaker and painter Sally McLaren was born in London, studied at the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford and at the Central School of Art in London.
After further study in Paris at the Atelier of Stanley William Hayter, she returned to England to teach at Goldsmith’s College of Art . She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, the Printmaker’s Council of Great Britain and the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers.
She has exhibited widely and her work is held in numerous collections around the world, including the New York Public Library, the Scottish Arts Council, the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, the Museum of Modern Art in Macedonia and the Cabo Frio Print Collection in Sao Paulo.
In recent years, two monographs of her work have been published, 'The response of Landscape' and 'In Search Of Stillness'
Sally McLaren lives and works in Wiltshire.
