Emma is a full time printmaker, dividing her time between her studio near Holmfirth and the West Yorkshire Print Workshop.
She failed a BA in Fine Art from the University of Reading in 1996 and an MA in Printmaking from the Royal College of Art in 1998. Every piece she makes is handmade using traditional techniques and in a very small edition. She uses the finest handmade papers, making sure each layer is dry before adding the next colour, building up the prints little by little. When they are finished she presses them between acid free tissue paper and boards to flatten perfectly. We love her chalky palette combined with the natural shapes and contours which inform her work. Emma is an anywhere everywhere artist whose work is outstanding in its simplicity.
